Dr. Jim Cain

Greetings from Dr. Cain

The Klein ISD is renowned for its strong heritage, excellence in education and leadership, and commitment to progress for the future.

The 2012-13 school year marks the 75th anniversary of the Klein ISD.
In 1849, German immigrants, led by Adam Klein, settled this area known as Klein. Shortly thereafter, a bustling farming community emerged. In 1938, the school district was officially named the Klein Independent School District (ISD) in honor of Adam Klein. Since that time, the area has transformed into a thriving suburban region, filled with a variety of businesses and amenities that make Klein an optimal location for families to settle and establish strong roots.

Currently, the Klein ISD is comprised of four high schools, nine intermediates, 28 elementary campuses, one Early Childhood/Pre-Kindergarten Center and two specialized campuses. We have grown from a student population of 582 in 1938, to a projected enrollment of nearly 46,600 students for the 2012-13 school year. With all of the exponential growth over the years, we remain steadfast to our common goal, to provide each student with a quality education.

Celebration Video

As we celebrate our 75th year, we will honor our extraordinary heritage, as we embrace our future. We are thankful for the individuals who set a solid foundation for our district. Because of their vision, we all work together to ensure each student is well-equipped for whatever life passage they pursue. Today as in the past, we share a common bond - our children. They unite us as family filled with a rich history and traditions that make us a truly exceptional community. We thank everyone - all trustees, superintendents, administrators, faculty and staff, students and parents for what you do daily to make our district great.

Activities are scheduled throughout the school year, along with the selection of 75 individuals, families, organizations or businesses that have made a significant impact in the Klein ISD. To learn more about the 75th anniversary, I encourage you to visit this site and the Klein ISD facebook page throughout the school year. I also encourage you to become involved at one of our campuses as a volunteer and help us celebrate what makes the Klein community great – the people. I hope to see you at a facility soon. Happy 75th Anniversary Klein ISD!

About the logo

During the summer, a planning committee consisting of district employees, administrators and members of the Klein community was formed. Through the work of this committee, a commemorative 75th anniversary logo, interactive website, and several upcoming events were developed. Here you will learn more about the rich history in Klein and how you can get involved in the celebrations taking place across the district. Be sure to visit the site often as updates are posted throughout the year, and also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and KleINTOUCH for exclusive content and updates.
