My first 100 days have come and gone and it has been great to get to know so many kind and caring people in the Klein ISD community. Below is a link to a report I presented to the Board of Trustees about my first 100 days and the data collected. During that time, you were asked to help me by participating in a districtwide survey. The highlights of this survey are included in the presentation.
I have now embarked on what I call a VisionCasting tour, visiting every campus and department along with other groups. During this tour, I am sharing these results and beginning to work our shared vision that will move us forward to providing the best education we can for every student in our district.
One of the most exciting outcomes of the first 100 day findings, is the notion that we want every student in Klein ISD to enter with a promise and exit with a purpose. We will achieve this vision by focusing on pathways, challenge, equity, leadership and continuous improvement. Make no mistake, this work will be purposeful, transparent, researched-based, and strategic. I invite you to review the presentation below and send me your thoughts. Thanks as always for working with us to design the best learning opportunities for every student in the Klein ISD.
First 100 Days Report
As the new superintendent of the Klein Independent School District, I am excited to join the district as we continue to honor Klein's rich heritage and focus on a bright future for our students. Over the last few months, I spent considerable time studying the district, meeting students, parents, employees and community members, and driving around the area. I can already tell that this is an exceptional place with a rich history and equally special people.
Designed to provide me with a deeper understanding of our district, I developed an entry plan with clear goals that is based on the district's mission and core beliefs. I will work closely with you - our Board of Trustees, district leaders, faculty and staff, students, parents and community as a whole. During my first 100 days, I will spend time listening to you and learning from you. I want to know what you think are the district's strengths along with areas that need improvement.
Thank you in advance for reading my entry plan. With student success as our core guide, the feedback during the first 100 days will direct our work of collaboratively moving Klein ISD forward, making it the premier destination district in the state.
