Academic Competitions

The Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students stipulates districts see to it that "options that meet the needs of gifted/talented students are available on a continuous basis outside the regular school day." (2.3 R) Academic competitions provide gifted students with opportunities to showcase and hone their skills while participating in appropriate, meaningful activities that appeal to their areas of strength. Participation facilitates the development of individual talents that prepares students for competition in our global society. The Klein Independent School District supports and encourages students to become involved in any one of the array of programs and opportunities available.
