Established in 2000, the Klein ISD Education Foundation is designed to provide direction and support for innovative academic and enrichment projects and staff development activities for Klein Independent School District. The foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors who include local business, corporate and respected community leaders.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Klein ISD Education Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to the Klein Independent School District to enrich, maintain, and expand programs needed to meet the District's stated mission of excellence in education.
Who will benefit from the Klein Education Foundation?
Grants to teachers are awarded twice a year on a competitive basis for classroom innovative projects. This incentive brings recognition to the teacher and benefits the student through exemplary teaching practices. A teacher may be awarded a grant of up to $1,500, and a group of teachers may be awarded a grant of up to $5,000. The grants are awarded based on merit, after a blind evaluation process by a committee of district curriculum and instruction directors.
Student Awards to secondary students are awarded for work that supports the mission of the school district. These products demonstrate the student’s ability to excel in a particular area of instruction that brings notoriety to the student, the school and the district. The student will receive a cash reward to promote continued works of excellence throughout the district.
The Superintendent’s Award for Elementary Authors is given to elementary students who have work published in acceptable, professional publication. These awards, which include a $100 savings bond, are given twice a year with the grant awards.
