September 16, 2011—The Klein ISD Board of Trustees approved two facility names at its September 12 meeting. The district’s early childhood/pre-kindergarten center, opening in the fall of 2012, will be called Grace England Early Childhood/Pre-Kindergarten Center. Dr. Grace England was the director of special education in the Klein ISD for many years. During her tenure in the district, she led an effort to establish one of the first early childhood intervention programs in the state to provide services such as speech therapy to infants and toddlers with disabilities to better prepare them for school.

The Strack football field is now Mike McDonald Field, named after a longtime coach of the school. A naming committee met the beginning of September to discuss and vote on name recommendations for the two facilities.
