Klein ISD Celebrates Board Appreciation Month
Jan 11 2017 - 09:39:00 am

January is School Board Recognition Month, and Klein ISD will join other districts across the state to thank our Board members for their dedication and willingness to serve as advocates for our children and public education. As elected officials, they are the voice of the Klein community, serving first and foremost in the best interest of our schoolchildren.

"Even though we are making a special effort in January to show appreciation to our Board members, we realize their many contributions reflect a year-round commitment,” said Klein ISD Superintendent, Dr. Bret Champion. “They generously give their time to ensure that decisions directly affecting our schools are made by representatives of our community, people who are close to our schools, and know our teachers, parents, and students.”

Our Board members shoulder critical responsibilities and often difficult decision making. Their ultimate goal focuses on the future success of the students in our district which is more important than ever. Public schools prepare students to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow, and our Klein ISD Board members act as advocates for our students supplying the district with a vision and strategic leadership. With the help and support of the Board, our district experienced another great year for learning.

Board members serving Klein ISD are:

William F. “Bill” Pilkington – President

Rick Mann – Vice President

Steven E. Smith – Secretary

Ronnie K. Anderson

Cathy M. Arellano

Georgan Reitmeier

Stephen J. Szymczak

Dr. Bret A. Champion – Superintendent

“Our district benefits from the tireless work and countless hours contributed by these local citizens who work without pay, serving as a crucial link between the community and classroom,” said Champion. “Our board is responsible for an annual budget of $702.2 million, more than 51,266 students, 6,945 employees, and 48 campuses. Please help us thank these dedicated volunteers for their efforts to make a difference and their unfailing commitment to the continued success of our students now and in the future.”
