Tyler Hudson, a fourth grade student at Frank Elementary School, used the Heimlich Maneuver to save a choking classmate on January 5 during his lunch period. The girl whose life he saved announced during the shoutout announcements that afternoon, "Thank you for saving my life. You are a true friend." Channels 2, 11, and 13 all featured Tyler in their January 6 newscasts. The Houston Chronicle also wrote an article about Tyler that made the front page on January 7.
