KISD Board Approved Design for Klein High School

At the June meeting of the Klein ISD Board of Trustees, members approved the design for the reconstructed Klein High School. To see colored drawings of the design, visit the Klein ISD Web site (; the information is posted in the spotlight section.

When school opens, students will no longer attend classes in the main Klein High School classroom building. Classes will be provided in temporary buildings that are being brought to the site this summer and in the former Annex.

The demolition of Klein High School is scheduled to begin during the fall semester. The estimated total completion date is August 2014.

The 2008 Bond Plan called for the building of the district’s fifth high school. However, because the current economic climate has affected the district’s student population growth and its financial status, the KISD Board of Trustees voted to delay the construction of High School #5. Additionally, the board voted to proceed with the reconstruction of Klein High School.
