To date the Houston Chronicle Plan has contributed in excess of $107,603 in funds for grants!

The Houston Chronicle provides a wide variety of sections to meet everyone's interests. Research indicates that having newspapers in homes improves reading skills, overall knowledge and TAKS preparation. Also, the Houston Chronicle has proven to be an effective tool for learning English as a second language. The This Week section gives you the latest on what's happening in your neighborhood. With complete "Best Buy" advertising and coupons, you save more than the amount of your subscription.

The Klein Education Foundation and the Houston Chronicle have partnered to offer Klein ISD staff a discounted subscription. To receive this discounted rate of $20 per month, Klein ISD employees must pay for their subscription through payroll deduction.

Employees must fill out the form located on the district's intranet and return them to the Payroll Department located in Central Office.

1. What if I am already a Chronicle subscriber? 

    The Chroncile will search for existing subscriptions based on the address provided. The old subscription will be replaced with the new discounted
     subscription. The Chronicle will mail you a refund for any pre-paid balance remaining on the old subscription.

2. Do I need to call the Chronicle to cancel my old subscription or discontinue credit card charges? 

    No. This will be handled automatically for you.

3. What about employees who are not on a 12-month pay schedule? 
    
    This program is available to these employees on 10 month and 12 month pay schedules.

4. What if my old subscription is in my spouse's name? It does not matter. 

    The Chronicle will go by the address not the name, but the new subscription must be in the in the employee's name.
