Recently Dr. Cain had the opportunity to sit down and talk with intermediate science teachers and administrators about the JASON Learning materials that are used in collaboration with our science curriculum. JASON Learning (The JASON Project) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that delivers to students in the classroom and out, reading selections, hands-on activities, videos and online activities. It also provides lesson plans, implementation tips and a powerful digital platform for educators. The mission of this organization is to inspire and educate kids everywhere through real science and exploration.
During the 2013-14 school year, the district received a $224,000 grant from Chevron, a partner with JASON Learning, to implement the program in the Klein ISD. This grant includes continued training and other resources for teachers and administrators from grades 4 - 9. The JASON Learning Project has been very successful at campuses across the district.
