State Compensatory Education provides supplemental resources to support students who
are at-risk of dropping out of school.
Students must meet one of the state or local at-risk criteria to be eligible for services.
The state identifies students who may have:
· Been retained
· Failed two or more subjects in grades 7-12
· Failed the TAKS test
· Limited English Proficiency
The local at-risk criteria identify general education students who may:
· Require a homebound placement due to health conditions
· Be identified as dyslexia
