Nutrition and Food Services

The Klein ISD Nutrition and Food Services supports the educational goals of the Klein Independent School District by providing nutritious, appealing meals to the students of this district at a minimum cost.

The KISD Nutrition and Food Services has been participating in the National School Lunch and the National School Breakfast Programs since 1989. Currently, the KISD Nutrition and Food Services serves more than five million lunches per school year.

Healthier US School Challenge Winner

Eiland, Kaiser and McDougle Elementary Schools have received the Healthier US School Challenge Gold Award of Distinction. All Klein elementary schools have achieved certification of Bronze, Silver, or Gold School. Fruit/Vegetable of the Month
Asparagus

Asparagus is low in calories and a good source of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Stem thickness is determined by the age of the plant. The thicker the stem, the older the plant. Peeling the outer layer of thicker stems can help keep it from being too woody.
