Important information from the Health Inspector
It is very important for all food booths to contact the local Health Department to inform the inspector of the event so the booths can be inspected and permit applications issued. It is also required that all booths are set up and operated properly (see attachments below). All potential food vendors must contact the Health Inspector if you will be preparing food, offering samples of potentially hazardous food or holding potentially hazardous food in coolers, such as eggs.
Items to Note:
Each vendor must provide the original Harris County permit (once received) at the event.
Private packers (of any food) must also have a State Food Manufacturing license onsite or they will be asked to leave.
Food booths selling potentially hazardous food and/or preparing food or drinks must not exceed 50% of the total vendors of the market.
