High School Zoning for 2012
Final Approved Plan
At the July Klein ISD Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved the preferred draft plan for the rezoning of Klein Oak High School in 2012. Klein ISD is realigning the Klein Oak High School attendance zones for the 2012-13 school year because the campus is overcapacity and projected to continue to grow. The high school zones will remain the same for the upcoming school year. The new attendance zones are approved for the 2012–13 school year.

On May 9, district administration presented a high school zoning report to the Board of Trustees that included the preferred draft plan for the rezoning of Klein Oak High School in 2012. The district held a Zoning Community Forum on May 31 at Klein Oak where district administration took questions and comments. We also accepted e-mail comments regarding the preferred draft through the end of June. These e-mails were read and considered; however, due to the large volume of comments received, we did not respond to questions.
Klein ISD will be discussing plans to realign the Klein Oak High School attendance zones for the 2012-13 school year because the campus is overcapacity and projected to continue to grow. It is anticipated that some current Klein Oak subdivisions will be moved to the Klein High or Klein Collins zone. During the spring of 2011, there will be meetings to study the high school projections and review options for the new boundaries. The committee will also study the topics involved in rezoning high school students such as academics, University Interscholastic League (UIL) regulations, extracurricular activities, and transportation.
