About Us
Klein Independent School District operates one licensed childcare facility, as an Early Learning Center (ELC).  This location is called Klein ISD ELC at Prairie Oak.

The ELC is available for all children who are either Klein ISD employees or community members.  The center provides care for children 18 months to 3 years old.  Our mission is to provide an engaging environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive.

Philosophy
The Klein ISD Early Learning Center Program is designed to create a safe, wholesome environment where children may enjoy learning in a nurturing, caring atmosphere.  Individuality is recognized and used as a base on which to encourage children to reach their maximum potential.
Curriculum
Research confirms the value of early education for young children.  Our program supports effective teaching practices and opportunities for child discovery through play and has been shown to lead to significant growth in children's intellectual and social development, both of which are critical to their future academic success.  Our program has implemented Frog Street as the curriculum for the 18-month-3-year-old classrooms which actively engages children in thinking, reasoning, and communicating with others.
ELC Classroom Ratios
Since the ELC is a licensed child-care center, the permit holder must ensure compliance with all minimum standards at all times, with the exception of those minimum standards identified for specific types of child-care programs or activities that the center does not offer. 
General Daily Schedule
6:00 - 8:00 AM Arrival & Breakfast
Students must arrive by 7:45 AM to eat breakfast.

8:00 - 11:00 AM Program Activities (AM Recess)
Snack is provided.

12:00 - 2:00 PM Nap/Rest Time

2:00 - 5:30 PM Program Activities (PM Recess)
Snack is provided.

Medication Policy
The Early Learning Center does not maintain a school nurse or other health care professional on staff therefore medications are only administered at 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Parents must complete the medication authorization form in order for medication to be administered.
