How to Make a Difference
Engagement is critical. Approximately 5.4 million children depend on Texas public schools! It’s all of our privilege and responsibility as Texans to contact Texas legislators about issues important to us. While the Legislature meets only once every two years for regular sessions, legislators’ offices are open year-round.
89th Texas Legislative Session
During the session, our elected officials are responsible for reviewing proposed laws and resolutions, deciding on constitutional amendments to submit to voters, and allocating funds needed to run the state government.
We are asking our lawmakers who have been tasked with these critical responsibilities to invest in our Texas public education system to ensure that the needs of our students and teachers are met.
