The Klein ISD covers 87.5 square miles of north Harris County.
The center of the district is located 40 minutes from downtown
Houston. There are approximately 54,000 students and 7,200 employees in the Klein
school district.
The Klein ISD Police Department's
jurisdiction includes all the geographical territory within the
boundaries of the District, as well as any property outside the District
that is owned, leased, or otherwise under the control of the Board of
Trustees.
Officers protect life and property on all Klein ISD
campuses and facilities, randomly and continually checking all District facilities on a
24-hour basis. Officers also investigate criminal, traffic and
accident incidents occurring on district property and assist other law
enforcement agencies as necessary.
Authority
Peace officers employed by Klein ISD District have the same authority,
powers, privileges, and immunities as bestowed on all Texas peace
officers while on and off duty.
