The ability to speak more than one language places students with these skills at great advantage in our world today. In our mission we state "global citizenship" because it is imperative for the success of today's global market. By learning another language (or several), students will increase their cultural awareness and acquire global empathy. These are traits many employers are seeking in their prospective employees.

In addition, most bilingual individuals tend to earn 10% or more than their monolingual counterparts. ACTFL(American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) has provided various sources and information in regards to the benefits of being bilingual today.

The Klein ISD World Language program includes:

French
German
Latin
Spanish

Levels I-IV are offered in all languages at all high schools with opportunities for PreAP and AP courses in all languages. Opportunities for heritage/native speakers  as well as AP Spanish Literature exist for Spanish. The French and Spanish International Baccalaureate program is available at Klein Oak High School and requires an application process (see Advanced Academics for more information). Please check individual campuses for specific details in regards to programs offered at each campus.
