Student Device Program

Thanks to the 2022 Bond, there is 1 device for every student.

Grades K-5

For Kindergarten through fifth grade students, all devices remain on campus for intentional classroom instruction.

Grades 6-12

Grade 6-12 students may take their devices home to continue their learning off campus through digital resources and homework activities.

* There is an Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) fee associated with device use at the sixth through twelfth grade level that is paid every year to provide coverage of repairs should accidental damage occur while in use by the student.

Sign the Student Device Agreement.

Returning Students

Returning students will sign the Student Device Agreement when completing their Annual Student Information Update (ASIU).

New Students

New students will sign the Student Device Agreement when they go through New Student Enrollment.

Additional Information

Some students will sign the Student Device Agreement in SchoolCash Online when paying the ADP insurance fee.
If you do not complete the Annual Student Information Update and choose to pay cash on campus for the fee, you will be required to sign a paper copy of the agreement.
Your campus repair center can provide you with a paper copy of the Agreement or you can download a copy.

Payment

Credit card payments can be made online via SchoolCash Online.
Cash will be accepted in person by the Repair Center Secretary.

Coverage

ADP Insurance covers up to THREE incidents of accidental damage to the device.

The following are not covered by ADP Insurance and will result in repair or replacement costs being charged to the student:

Device damage that is either intentional or the result of gross negligence (including transporting the device outside of the Klein ISD-provided “always on” protective case.
Damage to the device that occurs after three (3) incidents of accidental damage per school year.
Any loss or damage to peripheral items (power adapter, case, internal batteries, and other components or accessories provided with the device).

* This amount is refunded at the end of each school year or when a student withdraws from Klein ISD after the device and all peripheral items are returned in an acceptable condition.

Payment

This option is not available for payment online. Please contact your Campus Repair Center Secretary for payment instructions.

Coverage

If the device and all peripheral items are not returned in acceptable condition, the deposit will be applied to all outstanding charges for repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I report device loss, damage, or theft?

Students have five (5) school days after an incident, or discovery of an incident, to report any damage, loss or theft to the Repair Center through the ServiceNow system or in person at the campus Repair Center.

If the device was damaged/destroyed in an incident off campus, the student will need to provide a case number from the appropriate authorities (for example, if the device is damaged/destroyed in a fire, the fire department case number should be provided).

Do I have to use the Klein ISD-provided case? Isn’t my backpack sleeve enough?

All students must use the Klein ISD-provided “always on” case which comes with the device. Klein ISD-provided cases are designed especially for use with each individual device, and Klein ISD may confiscate a student’s device and/or take disciplinary action, as appropriate, if the student is not using the Klein-ISD provided case. Backpacks with padding are not acceptable.
