The Texas State Plan guides Klein ISD with the service design for gifted learners. Research confirms that the more time identified gifted learners spend together in an enriched and/or accelerated environment, the higher their achievement level. The KISD gifted program is based on the cluster-grouping model, where groups of at least 4-8 gifted students are assigned GT classroom teachers (elementary) and advanced coursework teachers (secondary) who have completed the state required 30 hour foundational gifted education training. Clustering provides opportunities for gifted students to work with other gifted students in flexible groups, with other students, and work independently.
The campus GT Advocate collaborates with the classroom educator to support differentiation in learning design so gifted learners are provided opportunities to develop advanced skills in mathematics, language and literacy, social studies, and science. Gifted learners also study advanced content and develop independent research projects with the support of their classroom educator, campus GT Advocate, and AA Program Coordinator. Pre-assessment, curricular compacting, tiered assignments, research pathways, and differentiation of content, process, and product are gifted service components addressed in the regular classroom.

Enrichment Opportunities
Klein ISD Gifted Learners have an opportunity to enrich their learning experiences outside of the school day through a variety of after school clubs, activities, and organizations. Some of the many offerings are listed below.
Research Pathways for Gifted Learners
All Klein ISD Gifted learners are invited to participate yearly in a research topic of their choice and share findings at the Annual GT Expo. Klein Educators guide students through the Research Milestones as they complete their research during the regular school day as part of the differentiation component through content, process, and product in one of the four core content areas.
