Dr. Jenny McGown began her career in education in Uzbekistan, where her first students (mostly 15-year-old girls who were attending school for the first time!) captured her heart with their resilience and tenacious desire to learn. She returned to the States to teach English at Klein Collins High School and has since served as an administrator at both the elementary and secondary level. Dr. McGown was the founding principal of Zwink Elementary and led the campus to national recognition as a Model Professional Learning Community School and a State and National School of Character. Prior to serving as the Deputy Superintendent, she was the Chief Learning Officer and the executive director for student performance.
Outside of professional life, Jenny enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, Brian, and awesome children, Joshua and Mary Claire. She and Brian are deeply involved in the work of Love 146, an international human rights organization committed to ending child trafficking.
