$97,611 in Educator Grants Awarded by Klein ISD Education Foundation

Klein ISD Education Foundation (KEF) directors, community members, and our Superintendent, Dr. Jenny McGown, made surprise visits aboard the KEF Celebration Express, delivering $97,611 in innovative classroom grants.

School staff and grant writers from across the district were overwhelmed with excitement as dozens of KEF supporters and volunteers clapped and cheered down the halls with oversized checks for grant recipients.

"It's always an absolute joy to surprise our exceptional educators with these generously contributed funds,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I want to express my sincere thanks to the Klein ISD Education Foundation and our gracious grant sponsors who are such treasured business partners for making today so joyful for our Klein Family."

This spring, the KEF Celebration Express delivered grants for ground-breaking programs and initiatives that will bring education to life for our learners in various ways. These grants were made possible by the support of numerous loyal community partners.

"My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the Directors of the Klein ISD Education Foundation, our sponsors, and the dedicated educators throughout Klein ISD who continuously strive to offer unparalleled learning experiences for our students,” Klein ISD Community Relations and KEF Director Christy Spisak said. “Celebration Express Day remains the pinnacle of our year, and today certainly lived up to that expectation!"

Lemm Elementary Awarded $7,095 from KEF for ‘Get a Grip!’ Grant
Mahaffey Elementary Awarded $3,619 from KEF for ‘Goals and Sole’ Grant
$7,500 in Grant Funding Awarded for ‘BICS Bear Den’ Behavior Program
Fox Elementary Awarded $5,200 from KEF for ‘A Hop, Skip, and a Cub Crawl’ Grant
Mahaffey Elementary Awarded $4,500 Grant for ‘Playground Communication Boards’ Grant
Special Education Department Awarded $15,000 for ‘Cooking Up Confidence’ Grant
Benignus Elementary Awarded $7,700 Grant for ‘Party On, PBIS!’ Grant
Schindewolf Intermediate Awarded $10,600 Grant for Promise2Purpose Pup
Eiland Elementary Elementary Awarded $8,847 Grant for ‘Picture This!’
Klein ISD Special Education Department Awarded $25,000 Grant for ‘From Learning to Earning’ Grant
