Board Members Participate in Celebratory Ceremonies at 2022 Bond Projects

Members of the Klein ISD Board of Trustees embarked on celebratory stops at some of the District's 2022 Bond projects, showcasing the remarkable advancements in educational facilities and student opportunities. 

The celebrations included ribbon cuttings and ground-breakings at various schools to highlight unique enhancements and innovative programs, as well as visits with the community and students showcasing their hard work in FFA programs. 

"These improvements are not just about buildings and infrastructure but about creating spaces that inspire learning, foster collaboration, and ensure the safety and well-being of all our students and staff,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I am immensely grateful to our community for approving the largest bond in Klein ISD’s history to make these modernizations and renovations possible, and I especially want to thank our Board of Trustees for their unwavering commitment to supporting and approving these projects for our Klein kids, schools, and community. Their leadership and support have been instrumental in bringing these transformative projects to life. I look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our students' educational journey for many years to come."

At Klein Oak High School, Trustees and Dr. McGown participated in a ground-breaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for enhancements of learning spaces. They  were greeted by Principal Thomas Hensley, who expressed gratitude for the community's support in making the building renovations possible, including:
Enclosure of the open walkway to secure and connect the auditorium to the main building.
Addition of 22 classrooms and main office enhancements to address capacity challenges.
Renovations to the clinic to further enhance student health and wellness.
Enhancements to special education classrooms and learning spaces.
A new main entrance lobby, bus entry, and administrative area.

At Hildebrandt Intermediate, Trustees and Dr. McGown were excited to participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of the first of two new grand staircases at Hildebrandt.
Principal Kimi Williams highlighted the comprehensive interior transformation at Hildebrandt Intermediate, including:
New classrooms, art room, grand staircase, and atrium.
Enclosure of the open breezeway for security and connection to the main building.
Enhanced collaborative opportunities in all classroom spaces.
A secured vestibule at the front entry and improved natural light throughout the school.

At Northampton Elementary, Principal Lisa Campbell and her team hosted a ground-breaking ceremony where Trustees and Dr. McGown officially marked the beginning of construction on enhancements to the car rider drop-off lane. The car rider lane is being extensively expanded to keep traffic off Root Road.  Principal Campbell also shared her excitement about the renovations at Northampton Elementary, including:
A comprehensive interior transformation for collaborative opportunities.
Upgraded safety features throughout the school.
Bright colors, fun graphics, and kid-friendly learning spaces with enhanced natural lighting.
New connections to the school gymnasium and play areas.
