Coach Waddy: Shaping Lives, Building Champions
In the halls of Kleb Intermediate, there's an inspiring, dedicated teacher who has an unwavering commitment to student success. Meet Coach Shanon Waddy, a cornerstone of the Klein Family for two decades, whose journey from a Klein Forest State Champion athlete to a beloved Kleb Intermediate PE Teacher is one we’re proud of.
A proud alumnus of Klein Forest High School, Class of 1996, Coach Waddy's school memories are deeply intertwined with this district.
“My best memory in Klein was winning the state championship in track and field,” Coach Waddy said. “My team and I won the Gold for the 4X100. This moment was not only a personal triumph, but also the culmination of relentless dedication, teamwork, and the unwavering support of our Klein Forest Family.”
After completing his college education, Coach Waddy decided to return to Klein ISD as an educator.
"I wanted to teach to influence lives and to be an inspiration for my students," he said. “Klein is not just a school district, but a home that has played a pivotal role in shaping my life. It's a special place to work because it feels like family.”
Students often share that Coach Waddy encourages them to strive for their full potential as athletes and as well-rounded individuals. From him, the moments he finds most impactful are when he's worked with students to turn challenges into triumphs.
“My favorite moment about teaching was watching one of my favorite students not being able to read and barely write graduate with a college football scholarship,” Coach Waddy said. “It reaffirms the belief that with dedication, support, and unwavering faith, students can reach heights they once deemed unattainable.”
Coach Waddy's life philosophy, "You can't choose where you come from, but you can choose how far you go," encapsulates his own journey and serves as a guiding light for his students.
Coach Waddy’s dedication, passion, and genuine care for his students makes him an incredible teacher in Klein ISD!
