Community of Klein, TX Signs Unveiled at Ceremony

Klein, TX—On September 9, 2024, the official Community of Klein, TX road signs were unveiled. The event was a proud celebration attended by dozens of leaders and pillars from across the Klein, Texas, community.

The journey to this moment began in 1977, when the Texas State Legislature passed Senate Bill 1283, signed into law by the Governor, officially designating the portion of Harris County that comprises Klein ISD as the community of Klein, Texas. In 2016, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees reaffirmed this designation by passing a resolution allowing all residents and businesses within the 88 square miles of Klein ISD to use Klein, TX, as their official mailing address.

“We have an old saying here in Klein—Deep Roots, Strong Branches,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “We are the kind of people who are proud of who we are, where we come from, and we are a community that draws strength from our traditions. I want to thank Commissioner Ramsey and our Klein ISD school board for their work in helping us preserve for future generations our Klein community pride and treasured history.”

In 2023, Klein ISD began placing signs at our schools and facilities throughout the district to ensure our community members knew they could use Klein, Texas as their official mailing address. Soon after, Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey committed to creating and putting up new road signs in an effort to help us identify and keep Klein, Texas on the map.

"Klein not only has an incredibly rich history but also a proud legacy of caring for its community, doing what’s right, and working hard to make a difference,” Commissioner Ramsey said. “They deserve recognition for all their contributions, and as their County Commissioner, it was an honor to do this community signage project for them.”

Commissioner Ramsey has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the people of Precinct 3, especially to the Klein ISD community. He has been an active partner in the district’s endeavors, whether by visiting the historic Wunderlich Farm, participating in the Klein ISD Veterans Day Ceremony, or helping to welcome new teachers to the school district.

“Commissioner Ramsey is a partner and friend of the Klein ISD,” Dr. McGown said. “Our district is thankful for the strong partnership with Precinct 3, and especially for Commissioner Ramsey’s genuine interest in learning about the heritage and heart of Klein—everything that makes this community so special.”

Rooted in our rich history, Klein, Texas, is a community that generations of families continue to be proud to call home. With outstanding schools offering innovative and excellent learning experiences and thriving businesses, Klein remains a great place to live, learn, and work.
