Doerre Intermediate Students and Teacher Honored at Board Meeting
The Klein ISD Board of Trustees recognized two outstanding Doerre Intermediate students and one remarkable staff member at the January board meeting for their dedication to success in the classroom.
Coach Alex Collins has been a proud Doerre Warrior for 24 years and attended Doerre as a student. He serves as the Math Department chair, the Football and Basketball coach, and the Math Club sponsor.
"Coach Collins is such a values-driven leader. There is nothing he can't do," Doerre Principal Shannon Strole said. "Coach Collins is loved by all of his students, so much so that they still come back today to visit him and ask for his advice."
Student Samuel leads group activities and consistently puts out fantastic work when thinking outside the box. His teachers and friends know him for his hard work, dedication, and integrity at Doerre.
"Samuel is an outstanding young man and an inspiration to his classmates and teachers alike," teacher Mr. Andrew Black said. "He is a leader, knows his content, and beyond that, is an awesome speller."
Student Alyssa is an exemplary computer science student. She is very helpful to her peers and strives to give 110 percent daily. Her genuine, kind, and compassionate spirit shines through wherever she goes.
"Alyssa is the kind of student you can provide learning resources to. She takes those resources and takes charge of her learning," teacher Ms. Elisabeth Warren said. "She does an outstanding job in computer science. I cannot say enough great things about her."
Congratulations to these Warriors for doing above and beyond to serve Doerre and the Klein ISD community better. Your #KleinFamily is proud of your achievements!
