The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA), the largest state professional organization for art educators in the United States, recently announced that Klein ISD is again a District of Distinction for 2023.

Klein ISD is one of only 16 districts across the state to receive this honor for five consecutive years. This places our visual arts programs in the top 1.3% of all visual art programming in Texas!

“Our tradition of excellence in the arts continues to be exceptional in Klein ISD because of moments like these when our incredible visual arts teachers are recognized for their outstanding work and our talented student-artists are celebrated at the state level,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I am so proud of our teachers for their creativity and commitment to growing our students in their respective passions. Congratulations!”

Klein ISD was honored for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and reach various learners.

"Our Klein Fine Arts Department is honored to have teachers who recognize the value these opportunities add to their students' growth,” Klein ISD Fine Arts Director Frank Chuter said. “Klein ISD always has and always will provide incredible opportunities for our young artists to display their talents. Thank you to the TAEA administrators for this honor and our educators for their great work each year. We look forward to being a District of Distinction for many years to come."

This is the fifth year TAEA, the leading advocate for the visual arts in the state, is honoring districts around Texas as Districts of Distinction. A total of 68 districts were recognized this year.

TAEA looked at field experiences, community service, and community exhibitions as part of the rigorous selection process for the award.

Congratulations to the entire Klein ISD Arts Department for this tremendous honor. Your #KleinFamily is proud of all of your continued accomplishments!
