Ms. Jennifer Siger is an outstanding educator from Kleb Intermediate who earned recognition from the prestigious Humanities Texas organization.

Ms. Siger was presented with the Oustanding Teaching of Humanities Award at the December Klein ISD Board of Trustees meeting.

“As you might conclude, teaching this course requires an experienced, innovative, and talented teacher to guide students to this high level of academic rigor and success,” Director of Advanced Academics Kathleen Plott said. “I am proud to recognize Ms. Jennifer Siger, from Kleb Intermediate School, as the Outstanding Teaching of Humanities Award winner from the Humanities.”

Ms. Siger is one of twelve educators from across the State of Texas to receive a $5,000 reward and an additional $1,000 to her campus for her dedication to her students.

In addition to her ability to make a significant impact in the classroom, Ms. Siger is a natural leader within her campus community, as well as the larger district community of educators of the humanities. She often seeks collaboration from various core content teachers for her gifted students’ annual research journeys, especially students who are dually talented in the fine arts arena.

“More than anything, I am so honored to represent the Humanities program here at Klein ISD. I am also a mother to a Humanities student, and it’s the most tremendous class I have ever seen her take. It is the honor of my entire career to have the opportunity to teach it,” Ms. Siger said. “This course is made up entirely of the students that are in it; each class is a little bit different from the other class, and they go where they want to go. Every class is very special, and I hope that we will all do our best to try to preserve programs like this in Klein ISD. Thank you so much for this!”

Klein ISD offers innovative Humanities pathways to high school students and humanities courses to students in grades 3-9. Students enrolled in Humanities challenge themselves with rigorous academic discourse and writing through classic literature, poetry, grammar, history, the arts, and philosophy.

Hanover Research Organization, a national research firm that assesses the efficacy of academic programming, confirmed that students who enroll in Klein ISD Humanities courses attain the highest levels of academic achievement.

Congratulations, Ms. Siger, on this phenomenal recognition! We are blessed to have educators like you in the Klein Family.
