Klein Cain Boys Soccer Brings Home State Championship Title
Justin Elbert

Klein, Texas—In a thrilling overtime finish, Klein Cain made history by capturing its first-ever team state championship, winning the UIL Class 6A Division I Boys Soccer title with a 1-0 victory over Alief Elsik.

Junior forward Parker Glenn delivered the only goal of the game late in the first overtime period, lifting the Hurricanes to the top of Texas high school soccer and sealing the program’s first state title. Glenn, named the game’s Most Valuable Player, credited his team’s unity and hard work.

“It’s a surreal experience. We’ve fought together as a family of warriors, and this win shows how much heart we have,” Glenn said. “Winning state wasn’t something I had even dreamed of, so to actually win and live this moment with a brand new coach and loving teammates is beyond words. There genuinely aren’t words to express the feelings from this win or even the love that I have for my family, my team, my coach, friends, and supportive community. I know that I will never be able to forget this unbelievable experience.”

A Historic Season Under New Leadership
This historic championship came under the leadership of Head Coach Jerson Carrasco, who guided the team to glory in his very first year at the helm.

Carrasco’s inaugural season concluded with an impressive 24-2-3 record, capped by a 22-match unbeaten streak. The title-clinching performance marked the Hurricanes’ 18th shutout of the season, thanks in large part to standout junior goalkeeper Donato Farina, whose clutch saves helped preserve the clean sheet.

“It feels amazing to win a state title,” Carrasco said. “From our first practice in August, we focused on discipline and doing the right things. There's nothing like playing for your community. Nothing like playing for your school.”

A Legacy of Excellence in Klein ISD
With this championship, Klein Cain becomes the third boys soccer team from Klein ISD to win a state title, joining a distinguished tradition:

  • Klein High: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2005
  • Klein Oak: 1988

The Hurricanes now stand proudly among this elite group.

“This is an incredibly proud moment for Klein Cain and our entire Klein ISD Family,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Congratulations to our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters who helped make this historic victory possible. We will remember this win for the rest of our lives!”
