Klein High Announces Coach Nick Codutti as New Athletic Director
Klein ISD

KLEIN, TX – Klein High School is ushering in a new era of excellence with the hiring of Coach Nick Codutti as its next Athletic Director. Boasting an extensive background in program-building, offensive innovation, and holistic student-athlete development, Codutti comes to Klein after a standout tenure at Fulshear High School. There, he guided the Chargers to unprecedented success on the gridiron and helped elevate every athletic program on campus to playoff status.

Brandon Baker, Klein ISD Executive Director of Athletics, expressed his enthusiasm over the district’s latest leadership addition.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Codutti to the Klein High School Athletics family. With a proven track record of success as both a Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Director, we are confident in his ability to build upon the proud tradition of excellence that defines Klein High School. We look forward to seeing his impact on our athletic program and community,” Baker said.

Under Codutti’s guidance at Fulshear, participation in sports increased by nearly a quarter in his first year alone, and he solidified his reputation by earning multiple District Coach of the Year awards. Known for his mantra—“things happen with persistence, patience, and with practice”—Codutti also brings experience as a featured speaker for Glazier Clinics, where he shares insights on offensive schemes and positive team culture. His career path has included roles as Offensive Coordinator at Tomball High and West Brook High, as well as a successful stint as Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Marshfield High in Missouri.

Codutti emphasizes creating a supportive, family-like environment where coaches, athletes, and the community unite around common goals.

“I’m here to serve everyone in the Klein High community—students, coaches, families, and faculty,” Codutti said. “Our job is not just to win on the field or court, but to build character, teach lifelong lessons, and create a culture where every athlete feels valued, supported, and motivated to excel.”

His extensive background as a player also helps shape his coaching philosophy. Starting out as a 190-pound running back before transitioning to a 350-pound offensive lineman, Codutti’s career included stints in the NFL, AFL, and CFL. These experiences influenced his dedication to strong technique, rigorous training, and a passion for seeing student-athletes flourish on and off the field.

Klein High Principal Shannon Strole added her excitement.

“Welcome to Klein High School! We are excited to have you join our team and look forward to the passion you’ll bring to our athletes and community,” Strole said. “Here’s to great achievements and building a future of success together!”

With a stellar track record, unwavering commitment to player development, and an ambitious plan for community engagement, Coach Codutti is set to continue Klein High’s legacy of excellence while bringing fresh ideas and energy to Bearkat sports.
