Klein ISD Again Partnering with USDA to Offer No-Cost Summer Meals for Children
Klein ISD

Klein, TX—This summer, Klein ISD is offering healthy, no-cost meals to children 18 and younger, as well as enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), a nutrition initiative by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), provides meals at no cost to Klein ISD. These meals provide vital nutrition for children who depend on school meals during the academic year.

“Our children need good nutrition year-round so they can learn, grow, and succeed in life,” said Tiffany Muecke, Klein ISD Nutrition and Food Services Director. “With nearly 2 million children facing food insecurities in Texas, these healthy meals are vital to nourishing young Texans during the summer vacation.”

Healthy Summer Meals Make a Difference

In Texas, more than one in five children struggles with hunger. When the school year ends, children often lose access to consistent, nutritious school meals. The Summer Meals Program ensures that more Texas children have enough food to live active and healthy lives.

Participating families do not have to apply, register, or provide identification.
