Klein ISD Celebrates Prestigious TASBO Awards for Two Exceptional Leaders

Klein, TX — Klein ISD is thrilled to announce that two outstanding employees have been recognized by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) for their exemplary contributions to public education. 

Mr. Kevin Wieghat, the Klein ISD Director of Maintenance, has been named a recipient of the 2025 TASBO Public Education Ambassador Award. Mr. Adam Stearns, the Klein ISD Director of Purchasing, has received the TASBO Rise Award.

"Kevin Wieghat is the epitome of a servant leader," Klein ISD Chief of Operations August Wunderlich said.  "He is always behind the scenes, ensuring our students have an excellent learning environment daily."

These prestigious awards honor TASBO members who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and active involvement in advancing public education. These two award recipients are testaments to Klein ISD’s commitment to excellence and the exceptional leadership within the district.

"Adam Stearns continues to exemplify the future of school business leadership with his dedication, innovation, and commitment to excellence,” Klein ISD Chief Financial Officer Dan Schaefer said. “His recognition with the TASBO Rise Award is a well-deserved honor highlighting his impact on Klein ISD and beyond. We are incredibly proud of Adam and grateful for his contributions to our district’s success."

Mr. Wieghat and Mr. Stearns were officially honored at the TASBO Annual Conference Awards Luncheon in Austin, Texas. This recognition highlights their hard work and contributions to shaping the future of public education.
