Klein ISD Earns $288K in Energy Incentives Through Smart Conservation Efforts
Jessica Williams

The Klein ISD Energy Management Department's successful participation in energy conservation programs offered by CenterPoint Energy and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has resulted in the department receiving $288,433 in incentives.

This initiative exemplifies the district's commitment to community service and demonstrates prudent financial management. During the peak summer months, when energy grid conditions are most critical, Klein ISD's Energy Management Department actively engages in efforts to curtail energy usage.

"When funding for our schools isn't where it should be, the incentives earned for participating in these programs allow our principals to fund events and purchase resources that would otherwise be impossible," Klein ISD Energy Manager Melissa Crizer said. "I love hearing stories about how funds positively impact students and staff! From an energy standpoint, participating in these programs contributes to the grid's stability. This allows facilities that care for the elderly or the critically ill to continue to operate without interruption in our community."

Our immense gratitude goes to our phenomenal Energy Management Department for their work toward finding the best ways to conserve energy while supporting our schools. Congratulations!
