The Klein ISD Fine Arts Department recently received a grant from the Klein ISD Education Foundation (KEF) to pioneer and host the inaugural Klein ISD Fine Arts Festival in May 2024. This festival will coincide with our annual Spring Art Show, exhibiting over 900 pieces of artwork crafted by Klein ISD students throughout the year.

During an unexpected visit orchestrated by the KEF Celebration Express, the school was presented with this esteemed grant in the presence of Foundation directors, community members, and our esteemed Superintendent, Dr. Jenny McGown.

Amidst an atmosphere of joy and excitement, the Klein ISD Fine Arts staff warmly welcomed numerous Foundation supporters who arrived via the Celebration Express school bus. Substantial grants were awarded to recipients, recognizing the hard work of our staff members.

Generously sponsored by Campus Kids LLC, the $13,000 grant will facilitate the purchase of supplies for the 'make and take' art projects during the festival. These projects will be organized as station-like booths, inviting students and community members to participate in creating both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art pieces.

This engaging event will be hosted in the arena and barn area of the Klein Multipurpose Center, coordinated by volunteers, including current art students, teachers, and community businesses such as the Pearl Fincher Museum. The festival's impact on our students and community will encompass fostering an appreciation for art education, encouraging a lifelong pursuit of creativity, showcasing student artistry, refining fine motor skills, and raising awareness about the arts.

“This grant continues the goal of the Klein ISD Education Foundation to provide outreach to our community. Yes, we provide grants to teachers in the classroom to enhance student learning but we also love the Klein Community and strive to give back through focused educational outreach opportunities,” KEF President Bill Lakin said. “This KREATE grant will do just that. We want to bring together the young and old, talented, and those just curious to build strong bonds for community and continued life experiences. Art is a skill that is easily strengthened, the more you participate in it. You will want to be certain you put this event on your May 2024 calendar.”

During this fall round, the KEF Celebration Express distributed grants totaling $79,134, enriching educational experiences for our learners. These grants encompass various innovative and engaging projects, from initiatives focused on Math fluency to those enhancing Literacy. The Fall 2023 grant recipients are not just innovative but also serve as inspirations in their dedication to education.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to all our grant sponsors whose contributions have made these initiatives possible. Your support plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational journey of every Klein ISD student.

The Klein ISD Education Foundation accepts grant applications biannually, encouraging, facilitating, and acknowledging creative projects that drive academic success for our Klein ISD students.
