Klein ISD Shines Bright at 2024 FFA National Competition

Klein ISD FFA teams took the national competition by storm, earning top Honors in Horse Judging, with Klein Oak FFA Horse Judging Team earning the prestigious National Gold Ranking and securing the title of 5th best team in the country. Klein Oak and Klein High FFA teams also stood out in Agriscience by earning top 10 standings.

“Horse Judging has given me unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a deeper love and connection for horses,” Klein Oak FFA student Aubrianna Gillette said. “Thanks to my teammates and Ag Teacher, Mrs. Roos, I grew in knowledge and experience, always striving to be the best I could be when competing. Going from Texas State Champions to 5th at Nationals, it has become one of my greatest passions, and I hope others also find the same passion in it.”

Klein Oak and Klein High stood out among over 9,200 FFA chapters nationwide. Their combined accomplishments are a testament to the team's dedication, skill, and passion for agricultural education.

“We are all so incredibly proud of these outstanding FFA students and their achievements,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Our FFA program is continuing our tradition of excellence here at Klein ISD, and these accolades are proof of the hard work being done within the program day in and day out. Congratulations to our students, sponsors, and FFA community!”

In the Horse Judging competition, Racquel Grado led the team with a 4th place finish at Nationals, earning a cash prize and Gold Ranking, while Aubrianna Gillette also received a Gold Ranking and placed 3rd in the State. Elizabeth Gaus-Schmidt earned a Gold Ranking and placed 13th in the State, and Kennedy Lux earned a Silver Ranking, showcasing the team’s dedication and excellence.

Klein Oak FFA student Emma Peters earned 7th place in the Agriscience – Plant Science division, while Klein High FFA's Reven Brummond was named a finalist in Agriscience – Animal Systems. These impressive achievements demonstrate the talent and expertise of Klein ISD's FFA students.

“This achievement not only celebrates our students’ dedication and skill but also paves the way for valuable college and career opportunities in agriculture and beyond,” Klein ISD CTE Director Deborah Bronner-Westerduin said. “This is setting a high standard for future success.”

We are so proud of these phenomenal students and leaders for representing Klein ISD so well on the national stage.
