KLEIN, TX - Klein Oak High School was recently announced as the first high school in Klein ISD history to achieve AP Honor Roll status by the College Board.

“I am so proud of Klein Oak’s success in achieving AP Honor Roll status from the College Board. The fact that this school is the first in our district’s history to be awarded this recognition is inspiring and sets the standard for others,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “I’m grateful for all our teachers, staff, and students who worked hard to make it happen.  This achievement would not have been possible without their collective efforts in the pursuit of excellence!”

Klein Oak's Principal, Mr. Thomas Hensley, is proud to receive this recognition from the College Board on behalf of his school.

“What an honor it is for Klein Oak to be distinguished as the first high school in Klein ISD history to achieve AP Honor Roll status,” Principal Hensley said. “The hard work and dedication given by our students, teachers, and staff never ceases to amaze me. Congratulations!”

According to the College Board, "the AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs deliver results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness."

The AP Honor Roll includes four levels of achievement: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Klein Oak achieved the Bronze criteria this year, securing the school's AP Honor Roll recognition.

“This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our students, teachers, and staff who continuously strive for excellence in education,” Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Beth Gilleland said. “Klein Oak High School's achievement of the AP Honor Roll demonstrates our district’s commitment to academic excellence, inspiring students to reach new heights in college credit attainment and embrace the power of knowledge.”

Congratulations to the students, teachers, and staff at Klein Oak for earning this recognition. Your #KleinFamily is so proud of you and can't wait to see how the Panthers show up in success next!
