KLEIN, TX- The Krimmel Full Orchestra has secured a coveted spot ranking within the top six ensembles of the prestigious Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Honor Orchestra Competition

The TMEA Honor Orchestra competition is noted as one of the most strenuous competitions in the country. Krimmel is one of six groups to advance to the final round, where they competed and were judged by a five-member panel that ranked the Krimmel orchestra second in the state.

“Being named second in Texas during the TMEA Honor Orchestra Competition is among the most prestigious honors for public school instrumental ensembles.  This honor speaks to the hard work and dedication of our talented student musicians and our outstanding Fine Arts educators at Krimmel Intermediate,” Klein ISD Fine Arts Director Frank Chuter said. “We are lucky to have Fine Arts educators like Tiffany Webb and Stephen Cook throughout our district and are incredibly thankful for the time, effort, and energy they devote to their students daily.”

For the competition, orchestra programs from across the state submit recordings of a complete performance from this current school year to the TMEA. Then, a panel of esteemed judges evaluates them to determine finalists. Once finalists are named, they are ranked by the judges.

“I speak for myself and assistant orchestra director Stephen Cook when I say that we are beyond proud of our orchestra and band students who performed in this outstanding ensemble,” Krimmel Intermediate Orchestra Director Tiffany Webb said. “Texas is home to some of the strongest music programs in the nation, and knowing that we rank among the best is a great feeling.”

Congratulations to the Krimmel Full Orchestra for this amazing accomplishment. Your Klein Family is so proud of you!
