Meet Klein Forest Valedictorian: Elyse Do
Klein, Texas—Klein Forest valedictorian Elyse Do has emerged as a standout scholar, leader, and community servant whose growth and resilience reflect the spirit of a true Golden Eagle. Elyse has spent her high school years passionately exploring her diverse interests while inspiring peers through her dedication to learning and service.
From the strings of the violin to the structure of philosophical debate, Elyse has embraced the full spectrum of the high school experience. She serves as Secretary of Klein Forest’s Orchestra and has earned top honors as a two-time Division 1 Soloist at Klein Solo & Ensemble. Her musicality extends to Jazz Orchestra, where she shines on piano and contributes to the Musical Pit and Full Orchestra ensembles.
Beyond the arts, Elyse has soared academically and competitively. A gold medalist in Music at the Academic Decathlon Region meet, she also distinguished herself as a Top 10 state finalist in Behavioral Health through HOSA—Future Health Professionals. As an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction and active member of Mu Alpha Theta, she has consistently pushed academic boundaries.
“Elyse wasn’t afraid to dive into tough philosophical topics, and her thoughtful hypotheticals and questions really pushed her classmates to think more critically,” Elyse’s honored educator and former teacher Ms. Yujin Seo said. “She’s an inspiration, and her commitment to reaching her full potential has pushed me to be a better teacher.”
Elyse's leadership spans several organizations, serving as Vice President of both the Asian American Pacific Islander Student Association and the Interact Club, and as Editor for the Key Club. She has also been Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta and Historian for HOSA. Her passion for community service shines through impactful work with Project C.U.R.E, Books for Development, and local efforts through Key Club and National Honor Society.
“Going into high school, I was a very shy person,” Elyse said. “But extracurriculars like volunteering and orchestra helped me get out of my shell and appreciate new things—like Jazz Orchestra! I met some of the best people during my time at Klein Forest, and I’m grateful for the opportunities that encouraged me to grow.”
Whether mentoring peers, tackling academic decathlon topics, or performing center stage, Elyse’s enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity are matched only by her humility. She plans to major in neuroscience and minor in philosophy—fields that mirror her analytical brilliance and deep appreciation for the human experience.
As Elyse prepares for the next chapter, our Klein Family celebrates all she has accomplished and her bright path ahead. Her journey is a testament to the transformational power of exploration, courage, and community support.
Congratulations, Elyse! The future is limitless—and we can't wait to see how you'll make your mark.
