Klein Oak Salutatorian Sia Maredia has paved the way for her and others at her school to succeed.

Sia, a true embodiment of a well-rounded student, has achieved remarkable feats. She is a Competitive Fencer and has been honored with the prestigious President's Volunteer Service Award (Gold). Her academic prowess is evident from her recognition as a Questbridge College Prep Scholar and a 2024 National Merit Commended Scholar.

Sia's commitment to her community is commendable. She has won the Quest for Excellence New Americans Award and is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate. In the Health Occupations Students of America, Sia has proven her mettle by becoming a two-time State Finalist and an International Qualifier.

“Sia truly is a one-of-a-kind student. It is rare to find a student who has such a passion for learning and helping her community.  As a student last year, Sia was a hard worker and excelled in physics,” Sia’s teacher, Abigail Garrison, said. “Her projects were thought out and creative.  She is also incredibly positive and inspiring to be around.  How many students have the ambition and drive to restart a chapter of the Red Cross at their school? Sia made it happen at Klein Oak, and it will leave a lasting impression on our school. I cannot wait to see what  her future holds!”

She is involved in fencing as a fencing workshop instructor for the Young Women's Leadership Club, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, the KO Orchestra, and the Asian Culture Club.

Sia has taken up leadership roles within various clubs and activities, demonstrating her ability to inspire and guide others. She serves as the President of the KO Red Cross Club, a testament to her dedication and passion for community service.

She is the manager of the Neuroscience Establishment Newsletter Team, the artistic director of Klein Oak Orchestra, and a board member of The Community & Children's Impact Center.

Sia's commitment to community service is truly commendable. She is actively involved in OneProsper as a virtual English teacher for girls from low-income families in India. Her roles as a Youth Volunteer and Session Leader for The American Red Cross and a Youth Volunteer and Ambassador for the Aga Khan Foundation further highlight her dedication. Sia also volunteers at a government school in Hyderabad, India, through Global Encounters and generously donates her time as a Virtual Tutor.

Through her time at Klein ISD, Sia has made many beautiful memories and is grateful for her edifying experiences.

"I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities being a student at Klein ISD has given me. From visiting the famous STEAM Express at Metzler to starting my own Red Cross Club at Klein Oak, Klein ISD helped me find my passions and feel confident in my future as I move on to the next chapter of my life," Sia said. "Not only that but being in the IB Diploma Program at Klein Oak also allowed me to make friends from all over the world and push the boundaries of my knowledge to think on a more global scale. Thanks to my amazing teachers, I have learned so much and become a better person. I can't wait to keep learning and using the knowledge they gave me to impact the lives of others!"
