Ms. Elizabeth Broussard Named December Distinguished Alumna of the Month
At the December meeting of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Elizabeth Broussard was honored as the Distinguished Klein ISD Alumna. Board Trustee Mr. Chris Todd nominated Ms. Broussard.
Ms. Broussard's journey through Lemm Elementary, Schindewolf Intermediate, and Klein Collins High School epitomizes the spirit of "excellence without compromise" as a Class of 2014 graduate from Klein ISD.
“I feel very lucky and privileged to be a part of this wonderful community—I really do believe that it is a special one,” Ms. Broussard said. “Not everyone can say they love what they do every single day and have the opportunity to make wonderful memories, so I feel very lucky. Thank you for this honor.”
Among Ms. Broussard's cherished memories is a visit to Wunderlich Farms during fourth grade, where the alumna had the opportunity to delve into Klein's history, engaging in butter churning and candle-making, turning history into a hands-on experience beyond textbooks. Another one of her fond memories was the Physics Boat Race, uniting students across Klein ISD campuses in a fun-filled yet competitive showcase of innovation and teamwork.
While engaged in several school activities, Theatre captured Ms. Broussard's heart. Roles in productions like "The Wizard of Oz" and "The Drowsy Chaperone" fueled her passion for the stage.
Throughout her time in Klein ISD, mentors like Ms. Kim Bickham, Ms. Kim Moore, Ms. Mechelle Vindiola, and Ms. Elaine Drugan left an indelible mark. These educators not only taught but exemplified hands-on learning and engaging teaching methods.
Returning to Klein Collins as an educator completes a circle for Ms. Broussard.
Teaching AP Environmental Science alongside her mentors and fellow alums reflects her commitment to giving back. Ms. Broussard fosters hands-on, lab-based learning, empowering her students to explore environmental issues and craft actionable solutions.
Ms. Broussard's journey from student to educator embodies the essence of Klein ISD—a community that nurtures, inspires, and shapes future leaders.
We are beyond grateful to Ms. Broussard for being an outstanding educator and a treasured Klein Collins High School alumna. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Broussard as the December Distinguished Alumna of the Month!
