Teacher Feature: Lara Fenter, Mittelstadt Elementary
From being a volunteer parent at her child’s school to an innovative teacher, Lara Fenter feels at home with her family at Mittelstadt. They genuinely care for one another and, most importantly, their students.
Ms. Fenter knew she was destined for the classroom when her teacher created a unique learning space at school.
“I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was in the fourth grade,” Ms. Fenter said. “My teacher at the time, Mrs. Alexander, created a classroom environment that made everyone feel welcome, and I knew I wanted to do the same thing.”
Ms. Fenter’s favorite thing about teaching is the opportunity to give each one of her students a place to feel safe, loved, and supported. She views her class as a family and feels confident that her students will show compassion for others for years to come. The culture she has developed in her classroom is warm and welcoming, while setting high expectations for success of every student in her care.
“My hope is that my students leave knowing that I was their biggest cheerleader,” Ms. Fenter said. “I want them to know their curriculum and to know that they can be the best version of themselves, reaching their full potential.”
Our #KleinFamily is so grateful for educators like Ms. Fenter! We appreciate all she does to ensure her students have the best possible environment to grow and learn in!
