Let's give a standing ovation to our high schools whose exceptional theatre productions earned them top spots at the 2024 Tommy Tune Awards.

This year, Klein High, Klein Oak, Klein Collins, and Klein Cain took home awards in 10 categories, highlighting the hard work and dedication of students and educators in the fine arts. 

"Klein ISD and the Fine Arts Department couldn't be prouder of the teachers and students on their recent Tommy Tune Award wins,” Klein ISD Director of Fine Arts Frank Chuter said. “We are excited that their hard work under the lights and behind the scenes is recognized as some of the best work in the Greater Houston area.  We are thankful to have phenomenal staff and eager students hungry to grow in their craft."

For 20 years, the Tommy Tunes Awards have celebrated high school musical theatre in the Greater Houston area. The awards, named after Broadway legend Tommy Tune, are prestigious honors in high school theater. These awards signal the school's theater program is among the region's best, offering opportunities like scholarships and internships.

Outstanding Orchestra
Outstanding Actor Honorable Mention - Matthew Moland as "Pepper"
Outstanding Choreography - Julian Nanez
Outstanding Costume Design - Kate Mehaffey
Outstanding Dancer - Julian Nanez as "Eddie"
Outstanding Singer - Caroline Jacobson as "Donna Sheridan"

Outstanding Orchestra
Outstanding Stage Management - Chayton Reel, Scarlett Kuyn, & Henry Patino

Klein Collins - Mean Girls High School Edition
Outstanding Choreography - Alexia Alla & Marnie Kapich
Outstanding Director - Robin Welch
Outstanding Stage Management - Ava Fraser, Abagale Bond & Gage Watzinger

Klein Cain - The Wizard of Oz
Outstanding Sound Design - Abigail Jimenez
