KLEIN, TX- At the August meeting of the Board of Trustees, U.S. Congressman Wesley Hunt was honored as the Distinguished Klein ISD Alumni. Board Trustee Doug James nominated Congressman Hunt for this honor.

This isn’t Congressman Hunt’s first time being recognized as an outstanding member of our Klein Family, as he was honored at a board meeting in the fifth grade! Before starting his phenomenal political career, Congressman Hunt was an Epps Island Tiger, a Greenwood Forest Grizzly, and a Wunderlich Intermediate Wildcat.

“I currently have the honor of serving a district I grew up in,” Congressman Hunt said. “What an honor it is to serve you all in the halls of Congress. I will always keep that servant’s heart with me. God has a plan in our lives, and I am a product of that plan.”

Congressman Hunt has been exceptional since he was a child. While attending Klein ISD schools, he excelled in honor academics. He was also a standout artist, earning a spot in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Show in elementary school. Congressman Hunt continued exploring his love for fine arts as a member of the Wunderlich band and showcased his athletic abilities while playing football and basketball at the school.

“There is no greater cause than this school district’s service of protecting and educating our youth,” Congressman Hunt said. “It is because of you that we will have a future. It is up to us to preserve our values and our way of life. Thank you all for what you do for us every day.”

After high school, Congressman Hunt attended West Point, earning a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Management with a Field of Study in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated in 2004 with his commission to the U.S. Army.

Following eight years in the army and completing 55 missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Congressman Hunt attended Cornell University. While at the university, he earned three master's degrees in Business Administration, Public Administration, and Industrial and Labor Relations.

“Klein ISD is incredibly fortunate to continue to receive support from this current leader, Congressman Hunt,” Trustee Doug James said. “What a gift you and your family are to our Klein community.”

Congressman Hunt is a proud husband and father of three. He is serving his first term in the U.S. Congress as the Representative of the 38th District of Texas.

“I am committed to constantly wanting to do better. As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another,” Congressman Hunt said. “We are always trying to strive for a better future for our posterity, and what you’re looking at is a product of your hard work, and I can assure you that I will not let you down.”

We are so proud to have alums like Congressman Wesley Hunt. Congratulations, Congressman Hunt, for all you have accomplished and for being named the Klein ISD Distinguished Alumni for August 2023!
