Klein High School Valedictorian Alex Chu has excelled in rigorous courses, crediting his teachers and classmates for shaping his growth both academically and personally.
Throughout high school, Alex distinguished himself as an academic and extracurricular leader. He is a proud member of both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, a Math Honor Society.
“It has been a true privilege having Alex in class,” math teacher Ms. Tiffany Peery said. “His intellectual curiosity and unwavering dedication have set a standard for excellence in our school. Alex not only excelled academically but also inspired classmates through kindness, leadership, and integrity. I have no doubt that Alex will continue to achieve great things beyond graduation.”
A natural leader, Alex has held several high-ranking titles in numerous clubs and organizations. He has been the president of Klein Esports and the Kats Create Club, a student-led initiative that celebrates creativity and collaboration. He’s served as Vice President of DECA, earning recognition as a four-time state qualifier and a two-time state finalist. Additionally, he served as Vice President of the Table Tennis Club and as Treasurer of the Asian American Club.
During his freshman year, Alex achieved the honor of being a UIL Policy Debate State Qualifier, showcasing his critical thinking and public speaking skills.
Beyond his academic achievements, Alex has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. He’s volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, and he also contributes his time through Mu Alpha Theta as a tutor.
From rigorous academics to memorable friendships, Alex describes Klein High as “a second home”—a place where he has grown both intellectually and personally.
“Within these walls are countless incredible teachers who have guided and supported me, shaping both the student and person I’ve become,” Alex said. “Challenging classes pushed me to grow intellectually and helped me strengthen my study habits, critical thinking, and time management. I genuinely feel prepared for the next chapter of my life because of the foundation Klein has given me. Beyond academics, Klein gave me the space to build lasting friendships. I couldn’t imagine where I’d be without the people I met here. Thank you, Klein High, for everything—you will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Whether mastering algebra equations, debating statewide, or leading creative student initiatives, Alex has been a force for excellence and positivity on campus.
The next chapter will take Alex to Duke University, where he will major in Economics, with possible interests in Public Policy or Computer Science. No matter what path he chooses, one thing is certain—Alex is ready to rise to the occasion.
Way to go, Alex! Your accomplishments and kindness have left a lasting legacy at Klein High, and we look forward to seeing what you will do next.
