Klein, Texas—The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has once again recognized Klein ISD and its Financial Services Department with the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This year marks the district’s 29th consecutive award for outstanding financial reporting.
“The Financial Services team continues the tradition of excellence in financial reporting and transparency, and we are very excited to receive this recognition,” Chief Financial Officer Daniel Schaefer said. “I appreciate all the hard work from the team in earning this award. It is truly a collaborative effort.”
An impartial GFOA panel determined that Klein ISD’s report meets the program’s high standards, which require a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the district’s financial story and encourage community engagement.
Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown praised the achievement and the dedicated team behind it.
“Congratulations to our outstanding Financial Services team on once again receiving this prestigious award,” Dr. McGown said. “I am deeply grateful for these professionals who work tirelessly to ensure excellence in our budget process. Their commitment to the highest standards of fiscal management makes me incredibly proud and reflects the very best of Klein ISD.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, representing a significant accomplishment by both a district and its leadership.
Congratulations to the Klein ISD Financial Services Department for continuing to set the standard of integrity and excellence in managing the district’s finances.
