Klein, Texas— Klein ISD students continue to excel in rigorous Advanced Placement (AP®) courses, with district-level results from the 2024–25 school year showing record participation and achievement across multiple subject areas.
According to 2024-25 school year data, 72% of students who completed an AP® course took the corresponding AP® Exam. Of those students, 69% scored a 3 or higher, demonstrating college-level mastery and qualifying for potential college credit.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for embracing challenging coursework and thriving in their AP® classes,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “These record-breaking results are a testament not only to their hard work but also to the dedication of our talented teachers who prepare them for success beyond high school.”
Standout Results by Subject
World Languages, Culture, History, and Social Sciences showed the most growth in both exam participation and scores of 3 or higher.
In 2024–25, French Language AP® (86%), Art IV 3-D Design AP® (80%), German Language AP® (67%), and U.S. History AP® (30%) recorded the largest increases in students earning a 3 or higher compared to previous years.
Several courses reached remarkable levels of mastery, with at least 95% of students in Art History AP®, French Language AP®, German Language AP®, and Precalculus AP® scoring 3 or above.
Campus-Level Highlights
Klein Cain High School led district gains with increases in AP® exam participation in 58% of its courses and growth in scores of 3 or higher across History, Social Science, Math, and Computer Science.
Klein Forest High School saw 71% of AP® courses record score increases, particularly in Science and World Languages.
Klein Oak High School excelled in English and World Languages, with nearly 70% of courses showing score improvements.
“Every AP® success story is also a story about opportunity,” Director of Advanced Academic Services Kathleen Plott said. “When our students challenge themselves with advanced coursework, they are preparing for the rigor of college and beyond.”
