Klein, Texas—Klein ISD has been selected by the Texas Association of Teacher Educators (TxATE) to receive the Outstanding Partnership in Teacher Preparation Award.
The award recognizes districts that have exceptional collaborations with educator preparation programs that prepare the next generation of Texas teachers through high-quality, year-long residency programs and other innovative initiatives.
“Our residency partnerships give future educators real classroom experience with excellent mentor teachers,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “These partnerships lead to better outcomes for our deserving students and a stronger pipeline to grow exceptional educators in Klein ISD.”
Klein ISD partners with multiple Texas universities to provide embedded, yearlong clinical experiences, targeted coaching, and continuing professional development. These partnerships align with TxATE’s mission to improve teacher education and foster collaboration among universities, teachers, schools, and communities to enhance learning for all children.
“We are deeply honored that the Texas Association of Teacher Educators has recognized Klein ISD’s Clinical Teaching Program with this prestigious award,” Klein ISD Chief of Human Resources Bob Anderson said. “This honor celebrates the powerful partnerships and mentorships that prepare aspiring teachers to thrive in the classroom. What makes it even more special is knowing that many of these future educators choose to continue their journey right here in Klein ISD, joining a district that Forbes has recognized as the top employer for educators in Texas. It’s a testament to the supportive, collaborative environment that begins in clinical teaching and continues throughout a teacher’s career.”
TxATE, the state’s leading organization for teacher educators, selected Klein ISD for its Outstanding Partnership in Teacher Preparation Award in recognition of the district’s innovative approach to growing future educators.
"This recognition reflects our deep commitment to growing future educators through intentional, hands-on partnerships with our university colleagues and campus mentors, ensuring that aspiring teachers enter the classroom confident, capable, and ready to make an immediate impact on student learning,” Klein ISD Director of Strategic Staffing Dr. Jessica Tovar-Hilbert said.
Klein ISD will continue expanding university partnerships and yearlong residency opportunities to prepare and retain excellent teachers for our Klein classrooms. Congratulations to the Klein ISD Strategic Staffing team and all who make these partnerships thrive. Together, we’re building the future of education, one great teacher at a time.
