KLEIN — Klein ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program continues the district’s tradition of excellence, having been recognized as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) for the second consecutive year.

Klein ISD is one of 71 districts out of more than 1,200 statewide to receive this designation. This places Klein ISD in the top 6% of districts in Texas for Career and Technical Education.

This prestigious honor celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality CTE programs.

The CTE District of Distinction Program, launched by CTAT, highlights districts that excel in workforce readiness, foster innovation in CTE, and inspire others through their dedication to student achievement and community impact. Honored districts serve as models of excellence, showcasing best practices and driving progress in CTE statewide.

“I am incredibly proud of Klein ISD being recognized as a CTAT CTE District of Distinction for two years in a row,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “This honor reflects the dedication, innovation, and collaboration of our teachers, administrators, and counselors, along with the invaluable support of our industry and community partners. Together, we’re creating transformative experiences that prepare students for college, careers, and success beyond the classroom. This recognition truly showcases the strength of our shared commitment to excellence in CTE.”

Klein ISD’s CTE department is recognized as a regional, state, and national leader. Its first-of-its-kind Geospatial Engineering & Land Surveying Program, developed by Klein ISD, is recognized by the Texas Education Agency as an official Program of Study and has been adopted by multiple regions across the state. This innovative program is one of six CTE programs in Klein ISD that allow students to earn a college degree while still in high school.

“Every single day across all our schools, our CTE students and teachers bring an inspiring combination of dedication, passion, and industry-ready skills that truly set them apart,” CTE Director Deborah Bronner-Westerduin said. “Earning this prestigious recognition once again affirms Klein ISD’s unwavering commitment to providing engaging, hands-on learning that connects classroom knowledge to real-world applications. Congratulations to our outstanding CTE students and staff on this well-earned achievement; we are incredibly proud of you!”

More than 26,000 Klein ISD students in grades 7–12 are enrolled in CTE programs. The district offers programs, including Dual Credit, Practicum, and Capstone courses, and provides students with opportunities to earn nearly 100 industry-based certifications. Students also participate in CTE co-curricular organizations that extend teaching and learning through innovative programs, business and community partnerships, and leadership experiences at the school, state, and national levels.

CTAT’s designation of Klein ISD as a District of Distinction highlights the district’s commitment to offering exceptional opportunities for students through innovative programming, strong leadership, and meaningful industry partnerships.

Congratulations to the outstanding Klein ISD CTE department on this recognition. Your Klein Family is proud of all the work you do!
