Hassler

Two students and a teacher from Hassler Elementary were honored at the January board meeting for their talent and hard work in the classroom.

Teacher Ms. Carolyn Mikel embodies the Klein ISD Promise2purpose shared vision by fostering beautiful art into opportunities for her students while encouraging them to take risks.

“When you step into Ms. Mikels' classroom, you will instantly become part of the innovative and engaging classroom environment that she has created for our students,” Principal Ms. Sarah Brown said. “They are never afraid to jump in and try new things.”

Avery is an exceptional Hassler student who consistently brings a positive attitude to everything she does, and she’s widely admired for her genuine kindness and the way she makes those around her feel seen and supported.

“She always exudes positivity and kindness to others, whether she's just walking the halls or working with peers in a classroom,” Teacher Ms. Estella Shanks said. “Avery strives to achieve greatness like no other, always embracing a new challenge and pushing herself to do better than before.”

Hassler student Maksim consistently stands out as a confident, dependable leader among his peers, setting a strong example through his initiative, responsibility, and respect for others.

“One of the things I enjoy most about Maksim is that he is such a values-driven leader. He’s encouraging, optimistic, and always has a positive ‘I can do it’ mindset,” Teacher Ms. Emily Nicknish said. “This mindset helps him build positive relationships with other students and with staff.”

Congratulations to Ms. Mikel, Avery, and Maksim for representing Hassler Elementary with pride. Your dedication and leadership make our school community shine and serve as an inspiration to the Klein family.
