Twenty-Three student-athletes signed letters of intent for the college of their choice, many with high-dollar scholarships attached, during Klein Collins’ National Signing Day celebration.
“Today, we proudly celebrate our senior athletes who have officially signed to continue their academic and athletic journeys at the next level. This milestone reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of hard work. We are incredibly proud of each of you for representing our program with integrity, commitment, and excellence,” Klein Collins Athletic Director Adrian Mitchell said. “Your success is a testament not only to your talent, but also to the support of your families, coaches, teachers, and teammates who have helped guide you along the way. As you take this exciting next step, know that you will always be part of our family. Congratulations, seniors; your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish!”
The signing day ceremony recognized many years of hard work and was emotional for students, teams, families, and coaches.
“I'm excited to sign with Prairie View A&M University soccer! Thirteen years of hard work and dedication have led me to compete at the D1 level,” Klein Collins senior and signee Mya Young said. “As a Black female soccer player, I hope to inspire other young girls to chase their dreams! I would like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity and for giving me strength throughout the ups and downs. To my parents and little sister, thank you for always supporting me, believing in me, and being my biggest cheerleaders. I would like to thank my family, coaches, friends, teammates, Coach Penright, and trainers for their impact along the way. A huge thank you to Coach McCullough for helping me grow both on and off the field, and for never giving up on me. Last but not least, thank you to Coach Abe and Coach Tino for this opportunity. I can't wait for the next chapter. PV U KNOW!”
